പുലർച്ചെ അഞ്ചുമണി മുതൽ രാത്രി ഒൻപത് വരെ പൂജയ്ക്ക് വേണ്ടിയുള്ള ചെറിയ ഇടവേളകൾ ഒഴിച്ചാൽ ഭക്തർക്ക് എല്ലാ സമയത്തും ദർശനം സാധ്യമാണ്. ഉച്ചയ്ക്ക് ഒന്നരമണിക്കൂർ മാത്രമാണ് നട അടക്കുന്നത്. അഞ്ചു മണിക്ക് നിർമ്മാല്യദർശനമാണ് ആദ്യത്തെ ചടങ്ങ്. അതിനുശേഷം സ്വയംഭൂലിംഗത്തിൽ അഭിഷേകം. പഞ്ചലോഹവിഗ്രഹത്തിൽ അഭിഷേകങ്ങൾ നടത്താറില്ല. അഞ്ചരയോടെ ഒരു നാളികേരം ഉപയോഗിച്ചുള്ള ഗണപതിഹോമം തുടങ്ങുന്നു. രാവിലെ ആറരയ്ക്ക് ഉഷഃപൂജ. ദന്തധാവനപൂജ എന്നാണ് ഇവിടെ ഉഷഃപൂജ അറിയപ്പെടുന്നത്. ദേവി പല്ലുതേയ്ക്കുന്ന സങ്കല്പത്തിൽ നടത്തുന്ന പൂജയായതുകൊണ്ടാണ് ഈ പേരുവന്നത്. ഏഴേകാലിന് ദന്തധാവന മംഗളാരതിയും ഏഴരയ്ക്ക് പഞ്ചാമൃതാഭിഷേകവും നടത്തുന്നു. ഏഴേമുക്കാലിന് ദേവിയ്ക്ക് നിവേദ്യമാണ്. തുടർന്ന് എട്ടുമണിയോടെ എതിരേറ്റുപൂജയും അതിനുശേഷം ഉഷഃശീവേലിയും നടത്തപ്പെടുന്നു. ക്ഷേത്രത്തിൽ ആനകളുണ്ടെങ്കിലും ശീവേലി നടത്തുന്നത് ആനപ്പുറത്തേറിയല്ല. ശീവേലിബിംബം തലയിലേറ്റിയാണ് ഇവിടെ എഴുന്നള്ളിയ്ക്കുന്നത്. പതിനൊന്നരയ്ക്ക് ഉച്ചപ്പൂജയും പന്ത്രണ്ടരയ്ക്ക് ഉച്ചശീവേലിയും നടത്തി ഉച്ചയ്ക്ക് ഒന്നരയോടെ നടയടയ്ക്കുന്നു.

ഉച്ചതിരിഞ്ഞ് മൂന്നുമണിയ്ക്ക് നട വീണ്ടും തുറക്കുന്നു. മൂന്ന് മുതൽ വൈകുന്നേരം ആറരവരെ ഭക്തർക്ക് ദർശനത്തിന് വേണ്ടിയുള്ള സമയമാണ്. തിരക്ക് കുറച്ചു സൗകര്യപ്രദമായി ദർശനം നടത്താൻ വേണ്ടിയാണ് ഇത്തരമൊരു സംവിധാനം. സന്ധ്യയ്ക്ക് സൂര്യാസ്തമായത്തോടനുബന്ധിച്ച് മഹാദീപാരാധന. പ്രദോഷപൂജ എന്നാണ് ഇവിടെ ദീപാരാധന അറിയപ്പെടുന്നത്. ഈ പൂജയോടനുബന്ധിച്ച് പഞ്ചാമൃതാഭിഷേകവും പതിവാണ്. തുടർന്ന് രാത്രി ഏഴുമണിയ്ക്ക് നിവേദ്യവും ഏഴേകാലിന് അത്താഴപ്പൂജയും നടത്തുന്നു. അത്താഴപ്പൂജയോടനുബന്ധിച്ചുള്ള മംഗളാരതിയ്ക്ക് സലാം മംഗളാരതി എന്നാണ് പേര്. ഒരിയ്ക്കൽ ഈ മംഗളാരതിയുടെ സമയത്ത് ക്ഷേത്രത്തിനടുത്തുകൂടെ കടന്നുപോയ ടിപ്പു സുൽത്താൻ ഈ കാഴ്ച കണ്ട് സ്തബ്ധനാകുകയും ഇസ്ലാമിക രീതിയിൽ സലാം പറയുകയും ചെയ്തു എന്ന കഥയെ ആസ്പദമാക്കിയാണ് ഈ പേര് പറയപ്പെടുന്നത്. അത്താഴപ്പൂജ കഴിഞ്ഞാൽ ഉപദേവതകൾക്കുള്ള പൂജകളാണ്. തുടർന്ന് എട്ടുമണിയോടെ ഇവർക്കുള്ള നിവേദ്യവും ദീപാരാധനയും. എട്ടേകാലിന് അത്താഴശീവേലി തുടങ്ങുന്നു. ഈയവസരത്തിൽ ദേവീവിഗ്രഹം സരസ്വതീമണ്ഡപത്തിൽ എഴുന്നള്ളിച്ചുകൊണ്ടുവരുന്ന ചടങ്ങുമുണ്ട്. അതിപ്രധാനമാണ് ഈ ചടങ്ങ്. ഈ സമയത്ത് അവിലും നാളികേരവുമാണ് നിവേദ്യങ്ങളായി ഭഗവതിയ്ക്ക് സമർപ്പിയ്ക്കുന്നത്. വിദ്യാഭിവൃദ്ധി ആഗ്രഹിയ്ക്കുന്നവർക്ക് ഈ ദർശനം അതിവിശേഷമായി കണക്കാക്കപ്പെടുന്നു. നിവേദ്യത്തിനുശേഷം വിശേഷാൽ പൂജയും മംഗളാരതിയും നടത്തുന്നു. ഈ സമയത്ത് എല്ലാ വാദ്യോപകരണങ്ങളും അകമ്പടിയായി വായിയ്ക്കുന്നു. ഇവയ്ക്കൊപ്പം ഭക്തരുടെ നാമജപവുമുണ്ടാകും. ഈ ചടങ്ങ് കഴിഞ്ഞാൽ ദേവിയെ ശ്രീകോവിലിലേയ്ക്ക് തിരിച്ചെഴുന്നള്ളിയ്ക്കുന്നു. തുടർന്ന് ഒമ്പതുമണിയോടെ ദേവിയുടെ പ്രധാന നിവേദ്യമായ കഷായതീർത്ഥം നേദിയ്ക്കുന്നു. ഇതിനോടനുബന്ധിച്ചും ഒരു പൂജയുണ്ട്. അത് പൂർത്തിയാകുന്നതോടെ ക്ഷേത്രനട വീണ്ടും അടയ്ക്കുന്നു.

സാധാരണ ദിവസങ്ങളിലെ പൂജാക്രമങ്ങളാണ് മേൽ സൂചിപ്പിച്ചത്. വിശേഷദിവസങ്ങളിലും (ഉദാ: കൊടിയേറ്റുത്സവം, നവരാത്രി, മൂകാംബികാ ജന്മാഷ്ടമി) ഉദയാസ്തമനപൂജയുള്ള ദിവസങ്ങളിലും ഗ്രഹണദിവസങ്ങളിലും പൂജകൾക്ക് മാറ്റം വരും. മഹാനവമിനാളിൽ രാത്രി എല്ലാ ഭക്തരും തൊഴുതിറങ്ങിയശേഷമേ നടയടയ്ക്കൂ.

Tambaram is now city municipal corporation.

Civic amenities expected to get a boost, 

The Governor has promulgated an Ordinance to establish the Tambaram City

Municipal Corporation in Chennai. Tambaram City Municipal Corporation will include the municipalities of Pallavapuram (Pallavaram), Pammal, Anakaputhur and Sembakkam and the town panchayats of Chitlapakkam, Madambakkam, Perunga-

luthur, Peerkangaranai and Tiruneermalai. The Ordinance said these municipalities and town panchayats located south of

Chennai city were urbanising rapidly and they were contiguous. “Further, there

is a need to upgrade the civic infrastructure such as street lights, water supply, sewerage, solid waste management and roads in these localities, in order to fulfil the aspirations of the people.” Better administrative structure, human resources and integrated planning were required to address these issues. "Hence, consolidation of these local bodies into a single larger urban local body, namely, City Municipal Corporation is considered to be essential. Besides offering an appropriate administrative set up, it will help in optimising the resources for effective delivery of services to the general public.” The Ordinance also referred to an announcement made by Minister for Municipal Administration in the Assembly to form the Tambaram City Municipal Corporation.

“Accordingly, for the constitution and administration of Tambaram City Municipal Corporation, the government has decided to undertake a legislation adapting the provisions of the Coimbatore City Municipal Corporation Act, 1981 (Tamil Nadu Act 25 of 1981), with such modifications as are necessary," it said.

A Mayor, a council, a standing committee, a wards committee and a commissioner would be the municipal authorities of the Municipal Corporation. The Tamil Nadu DistrictMunicipalities Act, 1920 would cease to apply to the local area comprised within Tambaram with effect on and from the date of the commencement of the

ordinance.

Until a new Special Officer was appointed by the government, the Special Officer of the municipality would be deemed to be the Special Officer of the corporation. The Special Officer wouldvhold office until the day thevfirst meeting of the council isbheld after ordinary elections to the corporation.

of men, in a wide-ranging crack- down on "immoral” pop culture Beijing believes is leading young people astray.

Talent shows that put hundreds of aspiring young performers through rigorous boot camps and subject them to public votes have become massively popular in China, sparking criticism over obsessive fans and poor role models.

“Broadcast and TV institutions must not screen idol development programmes or variety shows and reality shows,” China's broadcast regulator, the National Radio and Television Administration said.

The regulator ordered broadcasters to resist "abnormal aesthetics” such as “sissy” men, “vulgar influencers”, stars' inflated pay and performers with “lapsed morals".

Faced with falling birth rates, Chinese authorities have tried to instil traditional masculine values in the youth by ramping up gym classes and criticising male entertainers who model the effeminate looks of Korean pop idols. Instead, broadcasters were urged to “strongly promote outstanding traditional Chinese culture... and advanced socialist culture."

Popular Chinese blogger Feng Xiaoyi had his account suspended by Douyin - China's version of TikTok - last week for “promoting unhealthy values”, after some users complained about his “sissy” videos.

The Greater Chennai Corporation has levied on Indigo Airlines a fine of ₹25,000 for use of single use plastic envelopes to provide face shield, masks and sanitisers to passengers. In an order issued on Thursday,

Manish S. Narnaware, Deputy Commissioner, Health and Solid Waste Management, GCC, said a sample of the envelope provided to the passengers was tested by the Tamil Nadu Pollution Control Board. It was found to have a thickness of less than 25 microns.

What's myopia? It is a condition where objects at a distance are not clearly visible. Such persons need to wear corrective spectacles.

They advise limiting the use of gadgets, prescribe more playtime in the sun. They  call for immediate attention to their well-being. Doctor suggests limiting the time with devices and a balanced diet. “We need a lot of changes, such as restriction on watching devices." 

Doctors also suggest a diet that includes carrots, greens, fish and eggs. They must be taught to do yoga and listen to music. Children must be allowed to play so that they can absorb sunlight. Also, if possible, children should be encouraged to use larger gadgets such as the desktop or the TV instead of the mobile phone.

Humble background of Bill Gates.

Someone asked the richest man in the world, Bill Gates, “ Is there anyone richer than you in the world ?”

Bill Gates replied, “ Yes, there is a person who is richer than me.”

He then narrated a story.

“It’s during the time when I wasn't rich or famous. I was at the New York Airport when I saw a newspaper vendor. wanted to buy one newspaper but found that I don't have enough of change. So I left the idea of buying and returned it to the vendor. told him of not having the change. The vendor said, “ I am giving you this for free.” On his insistence I took the newspaper. Coincidentally, after 2–3months, I landed at the same airport and again I was in short of change for a newspaper. The vendor offered me the newspaper again. I refused and said that I can't take it for I don't have a change today too. He said, “ You can take it, I am sharing this from my profit, I won't be at loss.” I took the newspaper. After 19 years I became famous and known by people. Suddenly I remembered that vendor. I began searching for him and after about 1½ month of searching I found him.

I asked him, “ Do you know me?” He said, “ Yes, you are Bill Gates.

 

I asked him again, “ Do you remember once you gave me newspaper for free?”

The vendor said, “ Yes, I remember. I gave you twice.”

I said, “ I want to repay the help you had offered me that time. Whatever you want in your life,tell me, I shall fulfill it.”

The vendor said, “ Sir, don't you think that by doing so you won't be able to match my help?”

I asked, “ Why?”

He said, “ I had helped you when I was a poor newspaper vendor and you are trying to help me now, when you have become the richest man in the world. How can your help match mine ?”

That day I realised that the newspaper vendor is richer than me because he didn't wait to become rich to help someone.”

People need to understand that the truly rich are those who possess a rich heart rather than lots of money.

Its really very important to have a rich heart to help others.

New TTD temple

TTD temple in Vizag ready @ VISAKHAPATNAM

Visakhapatnam will soon have a new spiritual and tourist attraction with the temple of Lord Venkateswa- ra being built by Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) on 10 acres nearingbcompletion.

Special pujas will be performed at the temple complex from August 8 to 13 by priests from Tirumala. The temple will be opened for darshan from August 13. The temple, which was constructed at an estimated cost of 28 crore, is located atop a hill near the Gayatri Vidya Parishad College at Rushikonda.

What is the positive pay system for high-value cheques?

The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) had issued guidelines for banks to implement it from January 1, 2021, to safe- guard against cheque frauds. Here is all you need to know:

What is the positive pay system? 

The positive pay System, developed by the National Payments Corporation of India, is a process of recon- firming the key details of large-value cheques. Under this, the person issuing a high-value cheque submits certain essential details of it,

like date, name of the benef- iciary and the payee amount, to the drawee bank. The de-

tails can be be submitted through electronic means such as SMS, a mobile app, internet banking or an ATM. The details are cross checked while issuing the cheque and any discrepancy is flagged.

What is the limit on the amount under the system?

The RBI has urged banks to enable the facility for ac- count holders issuing cheques for ₹50,000 and above. It has also said that while availing of the facility is at the discretion of the account holder, banks may consider making it mandatory in case of cheque values of ₹5,00,000 +.

Why is the system important for customers?

Some banks have been telling customers that if the details of large-value cheques

are not pre-registered, they will be returned unpaid. For hassle-free clearance, on issuance of a high-value cheque, customers should ensure that the details areprovided within the time-frame prescribed by the banks.

The RBI has said only cheques registered under the positive pay system will be accepted under the dis- pute resolution mechanism. Customers will get an SMS on whether the cheque is accepted or rejected for any reason.

What are the details that must be submitted? 

Account number, cheque number, cheque date, amount, transaction code, beneficiary name and the MICR code are the details that must be given.

How can the details be submitted?

The details can be submit- ted through the respective bank's website, internet banking or mobile banking. In case a customer does not use electronic banking ser-

vices, they can submit the details by visiting bank branches.

Digital payment solution e-RUPI

Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched e-RUPI, a person and purpose-specific

cashless digital payment solution, via videoconference on Monday 02/08/2021.

e-RUPI is a cashless and contactless instrument for digital payment, an official

statement said, adding that it is a QR code or SMS string- based e-voucher, which is

delivered to the mobile of the beneficiaries.

In addition to the government, if any organisation wanted to help someone for

his or her treatment, education or for any other work, then they would be able to

give an e-RUPI voucher in- stead of cash, he said.“This will ensure that the money is

being used for the purpose for which any help or any benefit is being provided."

He said there was a time when technology was considered a domain of the rich

and there was no scope for technology in a poor country like India. “Today we are

seeing technology as a tool to help the poor, a tool for their progress," said.

He asserted how technology was bringing in transparency in transactions and creating new opportunities and making them available to the poor. For reaching today's unique product, the foundation was prepared over the years by creating the JAM system, which connected mobile and Aadhaar. “Be-

nefits of JAM took some time to be visible to people and we saw how we could help the needy during the lock down period while other countries were struggling to help their people," he said. 

More than ₹17.50 lakh crore had been transferred directly to the accounts of people via the Direct Benefit Transfer, he said. “More than 3,000 schemes are using DBT and 90 crore Indians are being benefited in some way or the other through in areas like LPG, ra-

tion, medical treatment, scholarship, pension and wage disbursal.

The Village Cooking Channel was awarded a Diamond Play button by YouTube for its achievement. The group donated 10 lakh from their earnings to the Chief Minister's Public Relief Fund (CMPRF) to aid the fight against COVID-19.

"Ellarum vaanga, always welcomes you!" - this is how the enthusiastic team of six welcomes viewers to each video on the channel. The group, comprising cousins Subramanian, V. Murugesan, V. Ayyanar, G. Tamilselvan and T. Muthumanickam, and led by their grandfather and former caterer M. Periyathambi, began the channel as a way to pass time when they were not engaged in cultivating their agricultural lands."We began this channel to pass time when we had no work, and to supplement our income. All men in Chinna Veeramangalam cook, and we decided to show it to the world,” Mr. Subramanian, the team's in- house cameraman and tech expert, said.

The team earns around 7 lakh a month from the advertising revenue generated by YouTube views. As viewership has increased, so has the quantity of food cooked in the videos. “We utilize at least one-fourth of the money we make on purchasing ingredients and preparing a feast," Mr. Subramanian said. "We serve the food to our friends, relatives and other people in the village,” he added. “Amid the lock-down, we began serving food in old-age homes and orphanages," he said. 

The team also credited the rise in its popularity to Congress leader Rahul Gandhi's visit. “We used to get about 10,000 new subscribers a day. But since Mr. Gandhi's visit, we have been getting 30,000 to 40,000 new subscribers a day,” Mr. Subramanian said. The Village Cooking Channel is the first YouTube Channel from Tamil Nadu to have one crore subscribers.

You know India is a land of Sages. Sages are also known by the title Muni or Rishi or Maharshi or Swamy in Indian scriptures. Agastiar is one of the great saints who appear in scriptures and are revered by celestial beings and ordinary mortals alike. His given name is Agastia - in Vedic language.  In Tamil it is Agastian. It becomes Agastiar for showing reverence and respect, which is the plural form.

Believe it or not, Agastiar and Vasishtar are the first twin babies grown outside the womb of their mother in the world! Both of them are great Rishis.
